What is this Foodbankathon malarkey?
Last year (2025), over 22,000 people in Coventry needed to use a foodbank. That is huge.
Coventry foodbank is a charity; we’re not run by the council, and receive very little government funding.
In fact, almost all of the cost of running Coventry foodbank is paid for by donations from individuals, companies and other organisations, like Churches.
As the demand for emergency food has increased over the past few years, so has the running cost and so we need to keep finding creative ways to raise money to pay for this vital service.
I’m interested, tell me more...
Each year, Coventry foodbank runs (or walks) The Great Coventry Foodbankathon in order to raise vital funds for the foodbank.
The Foodbankathon is a route that goes between all of the 15 foodbank centres around the City of Coventry, plus the central distribution hub for the foodbank, known as The Halo Centre.
Individuals and businesses have sponsored the Foodbankathon, raising thousands of pounds for the foodbank.
In 2026, the Foodbankathon will take place on Saturday, 30th May, but there are other Foodbank activities happening through the week.
Will you join us in raising more money than ever before to support the incredible work of Coventry foodbank?
